Are you an experienced software engineer with a proven track record of success looking for a new challenge? Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to innovative projects and play a significant role in the development of our groundbreaking products.

Responsibilities:

+ Collaborate with diverse teams to determine software requirements and specifications

+ Design, develop, and test secure high-quality software solutions

+ Implement software enhancements and resolve any defects or issues

+ Perform code reviews to ensure adherence to established guidelines

+ Identify bottlenecks and bugs within the software, devising effective solutions to address them

+ Create dashboards to track key application metrics, enabling data-driven decision-making

+ Integrate data storage solutions, including MSSQL and Redis

+ Collaborate with the team to maintain code quality, organization, and automation

+ Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from planning to deployment

+ Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and frameworks

+ Be available to address operational issues as they arise

+ Occasional travel to Danvers, Massachusetts – Abiomed headquarters – or other affiliated sites as required

+ Mentor and guide junior engineers

+ Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Requirements:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience

+ Familiarity with cloud service providers (Azure, AWS, GCP)

+ Proven experience in software development, including designing and implementing complex systems

+ Expertise in programming languages such as, but not limited to, C#, Python, and TypeScript

+ Strong knowledge of software engineering principles, secure coding practices, algorithms, and data structures

+ Experience with Agile methodologies and working in a collaborative team environment

+ Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills

+ Experience working with source control systems and CI/CD pipelines

+ Author automated solutions to support software products within a regulated environment

+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $104,000 – $166,000

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

§ Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.

§ Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

§ This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.

§ Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

  • Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year
  • Sick time – up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year
  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year
  • Work, Personal and Family Time – up to 40 hours per calendar year
