JOB SUMMARY

Marriott International is seeking to hire an experienced Project Manager (with a design & construction focus) excited to travel to all parts of North America and partner with the most ambitious franchisees in the hospitality industry.

As the newest Project Manager representing Marriott Select Brands, you’ll join a large team of design & construction professionals and will manage a volume-driven process that supports design review phases, milestone site observations, on-strategy project outcomes, along with account-based pipeline data management and forecasting. In this role, you’ll be working with industry-leading franchise hospitality developers on a daily basis. As such, your exposure to various project types, locations, ownership groups, & contracting methods is unparalleled in the industry.

Teammates and stakeholders alike will look to you for value-add project decisions and progress updates. Utilizing high-level team collaboration and negotiation skills, you’ll ensure internal teams (Brand, Development, Owner/Franchise Services, etc.) are moving towards a common strategic goal of “Guest-focused Design, Owner-focused Results”.

You can expect to work in a Hybrid work model and travel approximately 45-65% every week as necessary to manage the needs of your individual workload.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience Required

+ 4-year degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, or Engineering preferred. (or equivalent work experience within the industry)

+ Four or more years progressive field construction experience

+ Sound business acumen.

+ Strong problem-solving skills.

+ Demonstrated ability to build & maintain strong working relationships.

+ Demonstrated ability to negotiate and be flexible when appropriate.

+ Experience successfully collaborating across multi-discipline teams.

+ Demonstrated ability to lead a team or project without direct authority, utilizing influence and persuasion skills.

+ Adept in utilizing mobile application platforms across multiple devices.

+ Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite

+ Experience developing commercial real estate projects that execute on smart design and experience with managing and presenting executive summaries of design and construction progress.

+ Demonstrated ability to deliver results under difficult conditions

Education and Experience Preferred

+ Hospitality experience

+ Applicable professional licenses/certifications.

+ LEED/Green certifications.

+ Experience developing project schedules; tracking and review of construction documents.

+ Experience developing, executing, and managing contracts in accordance with divisional contracting policies and corporate guidelines.

+ Knowledge of procurement processes from Bill of Materials and FF&E Management.

+ Consultant contracting and scope management.

+ Experience developing of qualified bidders list of General Contractors.

+ Experience preparing bid packages, contracts, and material orders.

+ Experience with budget forecasting and development of monthly construction project reports.

+ Project & Database Management Software (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project).

+ Bluebeam and Adobe Suite

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

+ Manage a robust portfolio of franchisee accounts in their development of new-build/conversion Marriott Select Brand projects.

+ Facilitate the delivery of Marriott Select Brand projects with a focus on schedule, budget, and to the quality standards required by the organization.

+ Provide value-added project decisions for Franchisees and Marriott utilizing construction industry experience, team collaboration, and negotiation skills.

+ Provide consistent communications to ownerships, internal stakeholders, and hotel management teams.

+ Coordinate all aspects of the project delivery process with Design, Development, Procurement, Owner / Franchise Services, Risk Management, and various other departments.

+ Utilize a proprietary database / project management software to track multiple projects for accurate reporting and forecasting to internal stakeholders.

+ Facilitate new Franchise owner orientations while coordinating with internal disciplines and various other departments for participation.

+ Establish a detailed knowledge and ability to deliver on brand strategy projects through close coordination with internal team disciplines.

+ Coordinate and document all milestone site observations. (In-person & Virtual).

+ Market and actively support the products and services provided by Marriott International’s Global Design Division.

+ Share best practices and lessons learned to promote continuous product and process improvement.

+ Perform other projects/assignments based on business needs/demands.

+ Partner and collaborate with shared Assistant Project Manager role in support of Owner/Project Pipeline Management.

+ Works with team to put sustainable work processes and systems in place that support the execution of the strategy.

+ Establishes and maintains complete and up-to-date information to ensure accurate reporting.

+ Maintains and manages inventory and service operations.

California Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $83,550 to $178,603 annually.

Colorado Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $83,550 to $162,366 annually.

Hawaii Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $101,096 to $178,603 annually.

New York Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $83,550 to $178,603 annually.

Washington, D.C. Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $91,905 to $162,366 annually.

Washington Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $83,550 to $178,603 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus. Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.
