job summary:
A Validation Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Mossville, IL area. As a Validation Engineer in the Power Electronics & Motor Validation & Verification Team, you will ensure the reliability and performance of power electronics and motor components through proactive validation planning, risk assessments.

responsibilities:
+ Act as a subject matter expert aiding Project Leads/Design Engineers in component validation.
+ Document and disseminate validation best practices across the organization.
+ Serve as an un-biased auditor of programs, communicating risks and planned mitigation.
+ Utilize FMEA-based planning, Proactive Reliability, and PPRD for proper component and system validation.
+ Mentor and coach team members to establish validation excellence.
+ Provide technical guidance and capture lessons learned.
+ Work in a team environment on new product programs involving electric drive technology.
Skills:
+ Experience with electric drive systems and/or components.
+ Experience with structured FMEA & DVP&R process.
+ Self-starter with strong technical leadership skills.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead teams through complex assignments.
+ Excellent analytical skills.
+ Solid organizational and facilitation skills.
Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science.
+ 9+ years of experience or
+ Master’s degree plus 7+ years of experience, or
+ Doctorate degree plus 5+ years of experience.
+ Previous product development experience (design, validation/test, or analysis).
