Job Description

To develop and achieve all sales goals, as well as increase market share and enhance customer satisfaction as set forth in company’s annual sales plan. Additionally, this position is responsible for planning all regional sales activities required to achieve territorial goals. This includes hiring, training sales representatives, preparing budgets, developing strategic sales plans and programs, and coordinating all sales and account management activities with the account executives.

Contributes to the development and forecasting of the annual sales revenue budget, annual sales plans, annual sales expense budget, and the annual territorial sales/marketing plans. Ensures regional sales plans’ achievement by directing and communicating effective sales programs nationally and regionally to sales execs/reps and general managers. Responsible for recruiting, selecting, and orienting high quality sales representatives. Provides effective product education and skill development programs and conduct regular sales meetings. Monitors, markets (buy habits, change trends, etc.) And provides information to appropriate functional areas. Assists regional sales representatives in achieving sales quotas and expense goals by helping them effectively manage their time, leads, product focus, expenses, closes, and product knowledge. Plays a leading role in developing and implementing strategic and tactical sales programs to meet and exceed regional product, volume, and no quotas. Assists regional sales representatives in working with operations and customer service representatives to sell all company products. Responsible for regional sales revenue of ($5mm – $10mm). Directs a sales staff of 5 – 15. Supports company revenue goal. This position will also manage their own customer base in addition to the sales team.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree/equivalent experience. Four (4) years field sales experience. Prior management experience preferred. This position requires extensive experience in all aspects of transportation and customs brokerage (air, ocean, surface, intermodal) to direct the activities of assigned sales representatives. This experience is essential to develop, plan, implement and evaluate sales programs and subsequently recognize potential problems or opportunities and take appropriate action as needed. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential. Knowledge of the companies engaged in customs brokerage and int’l transportation is essential. In addition, knowledge of int’l trade and logistics services product lines is desirable since it allows a fuller understanding of the market..

Pay (Chicago ONLY): $98,971.20 – $187,971.20 depending upon experience, education, location and company policy.
