The Turnaround Coordinator is responsible for leading a cross functional team to plan and execute turnaround (TA) outages across the refinery. Adhere to the refinery turnaround process and ensure others are following it. Deliver a finished product that improves reliability and mechanical integrity of the unit while being accountable for safety, cost, schedule, and quality of the execution team.

Responsibilities May Include:

Safety:

+ Demonstrates personal commitment to HSE excellence. Responsible for own health/safety as well as health/safety of all assigned employees and contractors

+ Responsible for complying with P66 policies and procedures, established standards, and agency/governmental regulations

+ Assures HSE requirements are considered and integrated into the planning and scheduling of every job

General:

+ Identify gaps to achieving “Best in Class” turnaround results. Develop tools, work habits, and procedures to mitigate those gaps

+ Lead the unit team who will develop, plan, and execute the work scope

+ Conduct the turnaround as a single event integrating the maintenance, capital, and operations activities into a single effort

+ Develop the contracting strategy. Work with procurement for bidding and contractor selection

Planning and Scheduling:

+ Work with planners to produce planning packages and material lists

+ Work with schedulers to develop a detailed schedule for all turnaround activities. Critical path schedules to include input from operations on shutdown and startup durations

Execution:

+ Monitor safety, cost, schedule, and quality for all activities. Continuously identify issues and drive corrective actions when gaps exist

+ Work with all assigned contractors to ensure they fully understand the TA schedule, plan, cost basis, etc. to maximize the ability for a successful TA execution

+ Lead daily integrated status meetings during TA execution

+ Responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and quality work

Required Qualifications:

+ Legally authorized to work in the job posting country

+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent

+ Valid Driver’s License

+ 3 or more years of experience working in a refinery and/or industrial facility

+ 3 or more years of turnaround or construction field execution experience

+ Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

+ Intermediate proficiency in reading and interpreting Primavera P6 scheduling

+ Ability to task out and estimate refinery construction activities

+ Must be willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to comply with the following:

+ Travel up to 5% of the time

+ Occasional on-call duties

+ Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays

+ Transport articles up to 50 pounds

+ Work safely near large, hot, high-speed machines

+ Climb ladders and stairs up to 200 feet in height

+ Work around chemicals, including acids and bases

+ Work around hydrocarbons under high pressure and heat

+ Work outside in harsh weather conditions

+ Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment (such as steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection)

+ Maintain face daily so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Management

+ Experience with SAP

+ 5 or more years of experience working in a refinery and/or industrial facility

+ 5 or more years of turnaround experience

+ 2 or more years of experience in a supervisory role

+ 2 or more years of experience with planning and/or scheduling

The Wood River Refinery is located in Roxana, Illinois, about 15 miles northeast of St. Louis, Missouri, at the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers. Refinery facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrocracking, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. The refinery processes a mixture of light, low-sulfur; heavy, high sulfur; and high-acid crude oil. The crude supply is sourced domestically or from Canada. Wood River produces a high percentage of transportation fuels. Other products include petrochemical feedstocks, asphalt and petroleum coke. Refined products are distributed to customers by pipeline, rail car, barge and truck and are shipped to markets throughout the Midcontinent region.
