Job Summary
The primary function of this role is to assist the IHR team with leveraging data to drive strategic IHR initiatives, support data-driven decision-making, create survey and measurement tools, and help optimize processes.

Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting and Analysis
  • Develop and maintain metrics, surveys, reports, and dashboards for IHR to improve functionality and data sharing.
  • Collect, process, and visualize data to help answer business questions, derive meaningful insights, and enable strategic decision-making.
  • Gather requirements, understand business needs, perform data modeling, and develop data pipelines to generate the data architecture for data analytics.
  • Understand campus' primary data source systems, including table and data model relationships. Use that understanding to develop standard and ad-hoc reports that accurately answer questions from leadership and campus partners.
  • Assist with warehouse datasets to provide an integrated repository of data supporting IHR's analysis, planning, and improvement needs.
  • Analyze and prepare data and materials for IHR.
  • Responsible for providing technical expertise in data analytics.
  • Participate in education and/or training of individuals or teams on data analysis and interpretation.
Data and Systems
  • Design, develop, and maintain logical and physical data infrastructure to meet new and changing business requirements within the department.
  • Design workflows and forms that improve efficiency and effectiveness using standard campus tools (form builder, web tools, etc.)
  • Regularly audit and ensure data integrity in data systems.
  • Identify and explore useful new technologies that fit within IHR's strategic direction.
  • Assist department with effective data collection and storage processes.
General
  • Maintain documentation on procedures associated with this role.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of work experience in IT-related functions such as hardware/software support, programming, network design, network engineering, IT systems integration, or closely related field. College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline may be substituted as follows: 30 semester hours equals one (1) year, Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen (18) months, 90 semester hours equals two (2) years, Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years).
Preferred Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a field related to this position.
  • Two years of professional business, financial, and/or managerial work experience analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement or results and find solutions.
  • Experience creating and working with relational data models.
  • Experience with query languages.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of relational databases, query reporting, and report specification development.
  • Knowledge of database and report writing software.
  • Proficiency with Excel and a statistical package such as SAS, SPSS, or Minitab.
  • Experience with a variety of software programs including Microsoft Office, Tableau, and PowerBI.
  • Ability to break down complex information in easy-to-digest formats.
  • Ability to create meaningful data dashboards and visualizations.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective project management and time management skills.
  • Ability to convert abstract concepts into manageable analytic approaches.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5031 - Information Technology Technical Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 12/18/2023. Starting salary is $60,000, and is commensurate with experience. Hybrid work options are available for this position. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
