About the Team

The College Board Infrastructure Engineering team is a dedicated team of 4 engineers responsible for researching and implementing automations, improvements and enhancements within our cloud-based infrastructure. College Board has transformed into an Agile organization, embracing DevOps and Cloud-native systems, with the goal of improving speed and reliability of service delivery in support of our mission.Our team consists of engineers with a unique blend of skills and experiences, yet we underline the value of each individual and celebrate the successes of the TEAM. We build solutions to help reimagine and reshape engineering practices within College Board. We work with Product DevOps, Network Engineering, Security, and Infrastructure teams to design, build, and manage robust infrastructure solutions in AWS at scale. About the Opportunity

As an Engineer I, you will help build and design solutions to reimagine and reshape engineering practices within College Board. You are enthusiastic about personal development and committed to professional growth and learning. You are eager to collaborate with engineers from diverse backgrounds while exploring new areas of expertise. You will work with a wide variety of teams to design, build, and manage robust infrastructure solutions in AWS at scale.

In this role, you will:

Develop and Implement (60%)
  • Collaborate with the team to build solutions following Agile methodologies and incorporating continuous integration/continuous development (CI/CD) practices
  • Contribute to the development of infrastructure code, automation scripts and single page applications
  • Assist in defining transformation patterns for cloud adoptions
  • Work with domain Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to understand features and capabilities
  • Support the implementation of cloud product offerings aligned with business objectives

Analyze (20%)
  • Participate in analysis activities related to infrastructure, systems and processes
  • Evaluate existing systems for potential improvements

Support (20%)
  • Assist with maintaining internal tools and use command-line interfaces (CLIs) as needed
  • Engage in team discussion to share insights and observations

About You

You have:
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or MISor equivalent training and experience
  • Ideally 1+ year of software development/engineering experience with a focus on scripts, infrastructure as code and/or automation
  • Experience working with AWS offerings (S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, EC2, CloudWatch, etc.)
  • Ability and enthusiasm to learn new technologies as required
  • Excellent communication and practical decision-making skills; a believer in good comments and documentation

About Our Process

The hiring range for a new employee in this position is $100,000 to $109,000. Your salary will be carefully determined based on your location, relevant experience, the external labor market, and the pay of College Board employees in similar roles. College Board strives to provide our best offer up front based on these criteria.
