The University of Chicago's Department of Organismal Biology & Anatomy, in the Biological Sciences Division, is searching for a Research Assistant Professor whose primary activity will be academic research in association with a faculty member or team. The appointee will contribute to research projects on somatosensation, in which perception in human subjects is manipulated to explore questions in perceptual psychophysics. This research is central to a broader suite of projects aimed to improve the ability to create intuitive artificial sensations in the human brain that improve the performance of brain-controlled robotic prostheses. The appointee will have the opportunity to work within an outstanding neuroscience research community with state-of-the-art facilities, and to interact closely with a brain-computer interface group supported by NIH research and training grants. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent on qualifications.

Prior to the start of employment, applicants must have 1) a doctoral degree or equivalent and 2) completed postdoctoral training.
