Job Description

Methode Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: MEI) is seeking a Linux Administrator to join our Corporate IT team. As a key team member, you will be responsible for leading in the engineering, architecting, support and maintenance of the existing system(s) and websites. A strong understanding of Linux and automation is essential for maintaining current systems and planning for future growth.

The position is located at our Chicago Corporate office near O'Hare International Airport. We provide a hybrid work schedule, competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with corporate and division leaders and representatives to develop solutions to achieve each unit's goals

Participate in process improvement activities and initiatives

Configure and deploy new servers

Keep all systems updated with current patches

Maintain backups of the Linux and MariaDB environments

Accountable for enforcement of IT dept. standards, including but not limited to proper design, project documentation, coding standards

Work to continuously enhance security/compliance/audit processes

Assist with disaster recovery/continuity of operations planning and testing

Design, develop, implement, and maintain solutions

Troubleshoot technical and functional issues with the development and production environments

Perform daily monitoring and troubleshooting of the platform components

Resolve complex issues through hands-on technical solutions, self-research, peer group networks, or discussion forums

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

3+ years of experience in a similar role

Familiarity with Git

Understanding of SQL and relational data modeling

Ability to write scripts to automate various functions and reporting requirements

Working knowledge of Python scripting

Experience using Ansible for configuration management

Exceptional written and verbal communications skills

Exceptional customer service and organizational skills

Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, high tech environment

Results oriented and attention to detail

Ability to promote a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement

Foundational understanding of Internet and mainstream information technology concepts

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Good business analysis skills

Ability to be highly proactive in overcoming obstacles to project success

Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
