As a Senior Toolmaker you'll lead shop activities and project management for assigned projects. Manage design for manufacturing, process planning, CAM programming and operations, assembly, optimization, and certification. Ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and on-time delivery of multiple projects. Additional expertise needed includes process planning, project management, and one design skill fixture, mold, electrode, or tooling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process planning and documentation.
- Project management for shop activities on assigned projects.
- Design for manufacturability.
- CAM programming and operations.
- Ensure projects meet customer requirements and schedule.
- Assembly, optimization, and certification of tooling.
- Support continuous improvement ideas and concepts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with mold or molding machine during production runs to minimize downtime.
- Maintain and repair injection molding tools.
- Required Degree: High School degree or GED equivalent.
- 4+ years' experience working a tool room fabricating and assembling complex molds, dies, and machine assemblies.
- Injection mold maintenance/repair experience.
- Experience managing projects.
- Knowledge of mold processing, quality control, and cost-effectiveness of new product designs.
- Working knowledge of CNC machine tool procedures and manual tool room processes.
- Working knowledge of CAM procedures and processes.
- Ability to read work instructions and interpret engineering graphics.
- Basic math and computer skills.
