Position Title: Executive Administrative Assistant

Job Summary: Professional administrative support to the Peoria Area Commander and assigned Officers of The Salvation Army NCI Peoria Area Command.

Reports To: Peoria Area Commander works in coordination with the Associate Area Commander and other assigned Officers.

Qualifications:

Experience: A minimum of five years of professional administrative support experience required. Strong communication and written skills necessary.

Candidates must have a passion for fulfilling the mission of The Salvation Army and must be articulate in presenting the same to others.
Candidates must successfully pass the pre-employment background inquiry and annual motor vehicle check with a valid driver's license.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree preferred in a related business field of study; significant experience will be considered in lieu of.
Skills:
Confidentiality is essential and of the utmost importance.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional manner.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
Must be able to work independently and confidentially.
Proficiency in computer software applications, including demonstrated experience in using e-mail, MS Office applications, Internet and Social Media platforms.

Essential Responsibilities:
Responsible for all executive administrative duties, including processing and managing mail, e-mail, travel expectations, calendar commitments, expense reports and files.
Process all related request from Divisional and Territorial Headquarters, including, but not limited to, Personnel Files, Officer Service Reviews, Territorial reviews and transitioning of Officers.
Provide meeting support for expected commitments, committees, and board related activities.
Attend various events as support for the Peoria Area Commander and Management team.
Schedule Management Meeting guests and standing Agenda items; send invitations to Corps Officers and staff.
Maintain prayer Card list; prepare and send all prayer cards; prepare weekly prayer request email.
Process and track Officer furlough and conference requests.
Assist with the hospitality of Officers and families, including but not limited to, processing birthday cards and Christmas letters and gifts.
Schedule Christmas Cheer Visits with Corps Officers, Life Center Directors, and retired Officers.
Responsible for keeping and maintaining assigned Organizational Charts.
Maintain the Peoria Area Command Master Calendar.
Perform other duties as assigned as related to administrative support.
Maintain positive work atmosphere through appropriate conflict management, courteous demeanor, and professional and appropriate communication practices.
Maintain compliance in The Salvation Army's "Safe from Harm" Certification & related mandatory trainings.
Position Ranking:
Full Time, Exempt

Physical Demands/ Work Environment:
This Position is required to do basic business and office work. In order to successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the individual is regularly required to talk and listen, stand, walk, sit and use hands. Individual must be able to regularly lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift up to fifty pounds. The use of Office and Computer Equipment is necessary. Vision abilities will require close vision. Work may be performed indoors and occasionally require outdoors to attend meetings. There is low to moderate noise level for this position.
