The Business Development Team Leader is responsible for driving business developer performance nationally for our business application BD team which focuses on selling software, services, and support for cloud-native business applications. This position carries a team revenue target, as this role will have responsibility for the management of focused sales resources nationally. In addition, this position includes a seat on the North American Sales Leadership Team and may involve participation on other special leadership teams from time-to-time.

The Business Development Team Leader is a strategically important role to further the growth opportunities available to the firm. This position is responsible for ensuring alignment of the sales team's efforts, in collaboration with the Business Applications Service Line Leader, the Practice Leader(s) and the North American Sales Leader. This role will also be a member of overall business application leadership and contribute to overall go-to-market strategy development and execution.

Sales Management
Delivering focused BD team sales targets and growth goals.
Lead BD recruitment efforts, interviewing potential candidates and administering a compensation plan consistent with the goals and processes of the broader sales organization.
Mentoring world-class sales competencies among our business application focused sales professionals.
Assessing market opportunities and developing/executing a BD deployment strategy, in conjunction with the business application service line and North American sales leadership.

Diagnose sales performance issues and define gap-closing actions/BD coaching; ensure timely input and reporting of sales data; producing accurate monthly team sales forecasts; developing coverage and selling strategies aligned to our overall business application line of business objectives; building teamwork among BDs and other functional groups; and providing input that assists high-level management judgments and decisions within the business applications practice and North American Sales Organization

Sales Coverage Model and Integration
Work closely with business application line of business and respective capability set leaders to provide ongoing, current feedback, and recommendations relative to go-to-market opportunities (i.e. ownership for market assessment, strategy development, deployment and execution).
Maintaining our Solution Provider (SP) Growth goals.
Work and communicate effectively with the Sales Channel teams as required.

National Sales Responsibilities
Accountability for overall business development team pipeline and revenue forecasts, monitoring, and accountability to CRM usage for all go-to-market personnel.
Serve as business application SME (subject matter expert) for consistent and effective sales process and approach, in alignment with RSM Growth Platform principles.

Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of business application focused professional services sales experience, 4 of which must be at the management level
Broad-based experience successfully representing business application products and services
Demonstrated personnel management experience, including hiring, terminations, training, deployment, and performance management
Prior business application focused sales management experience with teams of at least 10 people
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Proven sales management skills focused on business applications
Bachelor's degree preferred, MBA a plus
