Brief Description
The Sr. Manager of Supply Chain, based in Downers Grove, IL, is a key leader in the Aerospace division. This person will play a key role in developing and driving implementation of the company's strategic vision. This person will also be responsible for supporting and driving improvements in all facets of the supply chain for six manufacturing facilities - four domestic, one Mexico, and one European based manufacturing facility. This position reports directly to the Director, Supply Chain Management.

Essential Functions

Division level Supply Chain Management Excellence owner for Aerospace
Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning
Coordinates and improves on Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) activity: contribute to material procurement timing, order release timing requirements, available capacity (internal & vendor), & lead-times. Interacts with Sales to coordinate an overall production plan to meet Customer demand.
Leads scheduling discussions with Sales, Supply Chain and Production to focus on a rolling 6-month outlook which feeds directly into the financial forecast for billings.
Key stakeholder in the forecasting process and Demand Planning initiative.
Supports the Financial Planning and Analysis business cycles for budgeting, revenue and cost planning, and inventory forecasting.
Support and help coordinate capacity & long-term planning for both sourcing & manufacturing to ensure accurate delivery dates are given. Understands material and machine capacity and constraints.
Performs inventory analysis, data collection, reporting and understands global sourcing requirements.
Materials & Production Planning
Establishes and maintains standards for a Plan-For-Every-Part (PFEP).
Coordinates Economic Production Quantity (EPQ) improvements across the manufacturing plants.
Key support in updating and implementing the Stocking Strategy across the sites.
Purchasing & Sourcing
Drives material and MRO cost reductions through strategic sourcing cross functional leadership.
Partners with Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations to select and provide active management of outside service providers.
Key support in PPV forecasting and mitigation management coordination.
Coordinate LTA and spend consolidation activities throughout Aerospace.
Project management and reporting of cost savings initiatives.
Material Flow: Shipping, Material Movement, Warehousing, & Receiving
Sets standards for material flow excellence at all sites, supports site leaders in assessing and developing associates to meet standard skill levels.
Drives and supports the implementation of material flow strategies that support sites to achieve improved inventory optimization, reduced costs, improved quality, and higher on-time delivery.
Leader in Supply Chain Excellence
Assist in Coaching, mentoring, onboarding and driving results with site level materials and supply chain teams.
Key leadership stakeholder for Strategic Planning and Projects
Key owner of Supply Chain KPI's and regularly reports on internal and global KPIs. Will report to senior management on KPI trending and actions taken to improve KPI performance where it lags to targets.
Acts as a liaison between customer service, sales administration, engineering, production, procurement, and logistics departments.
Key support in ensuring process competency and audit acceptance of the following AS9100 Quality Clauses:
7 (Product Realization)
7.1.2 (Risk Management)

Job Requirements, Desirable Capabilities, and Success Factors
This position requires the applicant to be a US Person with an US permanent residence. A US Person is a US Citizen or Green card holder.
Bachelor's degree in Business, SCM, Project Management or similar degree from an accredited university or college along with 10+ years of experience in supply chain and a manufacturing environment required. MBA preferred.
Demonstrated experience in Sales, Inventory and Operations (SIOP) Planning required.
Must be able to manage multiple deadlines with competing priorities.
Experience with low volume/high mix production.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills including the ability to gather.
Must have excellent presentation skills and experience presenting to Executive Staff.
Knowledge of production and inventory management.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency with the use of Excel, Access, Project and MRP/ERP systems
Lean Manufacturing background.
Technical knowledge to read design prints and technical specifications.
Multi-plant Supply Chain experience in the Aerospace industry preferred.
This position will require up to 30% travel.
