Summary: Lead the technical design and development of application solutions using existing and emerging technology platforms. Provides expertise for complex solution design, development and testing involving the integration of multiple products, processes, or systems into complete business solutions. Works closely with customers, business analysts, team members, and other staff to understand business and IT requirements that drive the analysis and design of technical solutions. Researches and maintains knowledge in emerging technologies and possible application to the business. Viewed both internally and externally as a technical expert and critical technical resource across multiple disciplines.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
Become proficient in the technology and business processes that enable Hershey's current manufacturing operations. Technical solutions implemented in this space comprise systems supporting product weight control, barcoding/inventory management, quality control, and manufacturing performance reporting
Responsible for leading application development, integration, and maintenance working collaboratively with Solution Architects, Engineering/OT Leaders, implementation partners, and key business stakeholders
Responsible for End-to-End QA of all development and change requests.
Strong organizational and project management skills are as important as familiarity with C#.NET, T-SQL, JSON, XML, HTML, Web Development, and Web Operations
Demonstrates leadership and initiative on process improvement efforts
Prepare design diagrams, test/debug programs, and perform solution configuration leveraging an understanding of business process and systems architecture
Diagnose and track down any functional issues to a root or functional cause, and resolve issues as needed
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members, internal partners, customers, and others through good interpersonal skills
Identify goals and objectives, success criteria, and action items/deliverables for completing projects in conjunction with Product and Solution Managers
Develop presentations as needed to provide transparency and alignment of key stakeholders
Understand the project scope and financials, and participate in the framing and quoting of projects to ensure successful project execution
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
3+ years of hands-on experience developing and implementing innovative solutions, collaborating with business partners across functions, and delivering within a change management process
Experience programming in C#.NET
Experience with T-SQL
Familiarity with API Development, Change Management strategies, Data Layer Management, and Digital ID Management
Strong working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle and Application Life Cycle Management
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook
Experience with analytical tools and flowcharting tools, such as Microsoft Visio
High degree of initiative, dependability, and ability to work with little supervision
Experience with MES/MOM application development, integration, and maintenance is a plus
Working knowledge of current Industry 4.0 technologies and trends is a plus
Experience using a DevOps approach to managing systems or solutions is a plus
Experience with OPC UA is a plus
Minimum Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Mechanical) or related field is the minimum qualification
