JOB DESCRIPTION
The Big Ten Network is looking for a Freelance StudentU Production Assistant to join their team in Chicago, IL. The Freelance StudentU Production Assistant is responsible for ensuring live events streaming on the B1G+ platform meet and exceed production standards for broadcast. You will work closely with the StudentU Team to communicate and troubleshoot graphic related issues with our 18 Big Ten campuses. This position will assist campus video coordinators and students by providing assets and premade graphics for use on B1G+ Broadcasts. This is a 9-month freelance position during the academic calendar (August-May) offering 40 hours per week. This position will report to the StudentU Graphics Manager and is based out of Big Ten Network's Chicago, Illinois, office.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist StudentU team with creation of weekly graphics and production guides as well as updating record books, rosters, and other materials
Assist the StudentU team during events troubleshooting any graphic issues that may arise, working with school video coordinators and students to remotely resolve them
Participate in StudentU team meetings as well as work closely with the linear network graphics team on asset requests and distribution to the schools
Work alongside Quality Control Operators and StudentU Coordinators to ensure B1G+ events meet graphics-related production standards
Review StudentU productions and provide constructive feedback examples to improve overall graphics on B1G+.
Review event production notes from Quality Control Operators, and addressing any issues related to Graphics
Communicate and uphold FOX Sports, Big Ten Network and StudentU standards and production guidelines to quality control operators, school video contacts and students

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
1+ years of experience with live sports production for streaming/television
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the Google Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Sheets)
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to be detail-oriented, proactive team player
Strong ability to multi-task and perform well in high-paced environments
Working knowledge of production switchers, graphics engines, replay machines, video encoders, and other video production equipment
Helpful, positive attitude
Love of sports and knowledge of the teams and student-athletes of the Big Ten conference
Available to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends
