Job Description

As a Lead Chemist at Purolite, an Ecolab Company, you will focus on resin synthesis and application testing. The ideal candidate, you will have a strong background in organic/inorganic functionalization of ion exchange resins and their application in various industrial processes. This role involves the development, characterization, and performance evaluation of novel ion exchange resins to meet specific application needs. The position requires the ability to work independently in the laboratory setting, perform thorough literature reviews, establish research plans and provide reports with statistically sound data. What You Will Do:
Lead and act as a key technical contributor on innovation projects delivering new products to the market
Design appropriate experiments to understand the synthesis and application of ion exchange resins
Develop novel ion exchange resin materials for applications in emerging markets
Utilize different analytical techniques to characterize the lab-developed resin material
Develop application testing method to performance evaluate the resin material
Act as a liaison between the research, quality, field, sales and production teams
Collaborate with production on joint projects ensuring critical milestones are met
Perform work in a safe manner while identifying opportunities for improving safety.
Work on a multinational team collaborating with colleagues around the world
Collaborate cross functionally with marketing, quality, field, sales and production teams to ensure innovation products meet key performance and technical criteria
Write and present technical recommendations or test results to a wide range of audiences
Ability to lead a research program with minimal daily interaction/direction with the group leader

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of science and 7 years of related experience.
3 years of experience with polymer synthesis, organic chemistry, or inorganic synthesis
Demonstrated ability to conduct research independently and as part of a highly collaborative team
Demonstrate proficiency in interpreting and understanding applicable lab and field test result

Preferred Qualifications:
Master of science and 5+ years; or Ph.D. and 3+ years of related experience
Relevant experience and knowledge in the Ion Exchange space
Degree in Polymer Science
Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team environment with cross-functional groups.
Demonstrated project management and organizational skills
Eagerness and ability to learn new products, processes, and chemistries
Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE)
