 Graduate Assistantship Overview
Elmhurst University welcomes applications for a graduate assistantship in the Admissions department for the 2024-2025 academic year, which is eligible for renewal for the 2025-2026 academic year. This is a student position. Interested applicants will need to submit an application for admission into a degree seeking graduate program at elmhurst.edu/graduatestudies and be accepted before becoming eligible for consideration for a graduate assistant position that correlates with their area of study.

 

Graduate assistants at Elmhurst University may be hired for a full tuition waiver based on 20 hours of service per week. Graduate assistants will also receive a stipend while they are working, paid bi-weekly, in support of their continued education. Graduate assistants will participate in their assistantships during the Fall and Spring terms at minimum and may be required to participate during January and/or Summer terms.

 

Eligible Graduate Programs: Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Weekly Hours: 20

Tuition Waiver: Full
Stipend: $2,500 per semester, and $625 per month if enrolled during J-Term or Summer 
Terms: Fall 2024, J-Term 2025, and Spring 2025. Eligible to participate during Summer 2025 if enrolled in summer courses, and eligible for renewal for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Special Notation: Offers for this position are conditional upon acceptance into one of the above noted graduate programs at Elmhurst University. Graduate students must maintain full-time enrollment in their graduate program in order to maintain a graduate assistantship.

 


Nature of Work

Works with Social Media Specialist to aid in generating, posting and reporting of social media initiatives for the Office of Admission. Seeks opportunities for expanded social media opportunities. Manages and executes the communication calendars and initiatives across student populations. Collaborates with Social Media specialist and Director of Admission Marketing to plan and facilitate communications related to email, text and video to influence enrollment to Elmhurst University.
Salary Grade
Essential Functions 
 Generates, collects, posts and reports on social media for the Office of Admission.
Coordinates influencers and staff to build campaigns.
Contributes to recruitment planning and social media calendar by following and updating throughout the year.
Assesses social media campaigns and builds reports for leadership team.
Collaborates with Assistant Director for Communications and Director of Marketing to build an effective and integrated communication strategy.
Assists in the development of training program modules to assist admission staff in social media development.
Assist in managing data integrity and CRM projects related to communication flow.
Assist in planning and executing an organized communication plan for applicants and families in order to facilitate enrollment.
Assist in coordinating student recruitment and marketing communications flow for electronic and web channels using targeted communications across First-Year, Transfer, International and Graduate populations.
Collaborate with Director of Admission Marketing, Social Media specialist and Directors for coordinated communication efforts including video, email, and text.

Minimum Qualifications 
 Bachelor's degree required
Well-developed skills in verbal/written communication.
Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
Area of study related to position description.
Ability to project a positive image of the institution in an organized, accurate manner.
Must be responsive and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
Evening and weekend hours as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements 
 Graduate Assistant is typically subject to indoor work, though some outdoor work may be required. Physical activities include repetitive motion and exerting up to 10 pounds of force in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
