Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

As a Forklift Operator, you will be working in a fast-paced environment that supports a major food distribution center. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, loading, unloading, picking, putting away, consolidating, stacking, and staging products and materials using a forklift. You will be expected to follow specific work instructions and best practices to safely and accurately complete daily work assignments, and support all operational processes and procedures. This includes assisting with physical inventories and cycle counts, inspecting pallets and cases for proper quantities, items brands, and lot codes, and maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly work area. You will be required to communicate problems, concerns and ideas to management, as well as identify process improvements. Safety is a priority, and you will be expected to participate in all assigned training programs and adhere to all guidelines. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Hard Skills

+ Stand-up forklift operation

+ Medium level physical exertion including lifting up to 50 pounds frequently

+ Ability to learn how to operate RF systems in logistics environment

+ Basic math and reading skills to complete necessary paperwork

+ Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions

+ Good communication skills

+ Problem-solving skills

+ Attention to detail

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Carol Stream, Illinois.

Work Environment

You will be working in a climate-controlled distribution center environment, with offices and warehouse space. The total employee headcount is roughly 60. Shifts available are 1st Shift (5:30 AM to 2:00 PM) and 2nd Shift (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM). Please note that this is a dry storage facility for food, with items including dried/prepacked foods, goods, seasonings, bread crumbs, etc.
