Job Title: Material Handler
Job Description
Join our team as a Material Handler and play a crucial role in the operations of a steel distribution center. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks including the shipping and cutting of metal coils for customers. This role involves learning and executing multiple facets of warehouse operations such as cutting, using an overhead crane, skid building, packaging, and assisting with machine operations. You will operate an overhead crane, a sit-down industrial forklift, utilize saws, and cutting mechanisms for coils. Additionally, you will be involved in every aspect of receiving and shipping steel products, reading work orders, performing all housekeeping duties, and adapting to flexible roles as assigned. Your day will start with clear production goals focusing on the number of pieces to process, cut, package, quality control, and bundle before shipment.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 90 Day(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Franklin Park, Illinois.
Work Environment
Steel distribution center that is temperature controlled but can be dirty and physically demanding. The position offers a competitive hourly rate of $21-$25. Work hours are available for 1st shift (5:30 AM – 2:00 PM Monday – Friday) and 2nd shift (1:30 PM – 10:00 PM Monday – Friday).
