Job Description
Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Attorney/Lawyer in the Retail – Furniture industry, situated in Oak Brook, Illinois, 60523, United States. The role primarily revolves around reviewing and negotiating contract terms and conditions, vendor agreements, and other associated customer terms.
Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret customer’s terms and edits associated with their contracts
- Conduct thorough reviews of contracts, specifically their terms and conditions
- Engage in negotiations, with a particular focus on payment terms as they are often the most contentious issues
- Handle vendor agreements, including reviewing, negotiating, and managing these documents
- Utilize legal software to maintain accurate records and streamline processes
- Evaluate and negotiate commercial terms to ensure they align with the company’s interests
- Establish and maintain vendor contacts to ensure smooth operations and communications
- Handle inquiries and disputes related to contract terms and vendor agreements. Requirements – Possession of a law degree from an accredited institution
- Current license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction
- Proven experience in the field of commercial law, preferably within the retail and furniture industry
- Strong understanding and experience with legal software
- Ability to draft, review, negotiate and interpret various types of contracts including vendor agreements
- Excellence in understanding, interpreting and advising on contract and commercial terms
- Previous experience in managing relationships with vendors, including negotiation of terms
- Ability to provide sound legal advice to stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to high ethical standards.
