Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the HR/Communications Manager, this position promotes awareness of community news and lifestyle offerings using communication tools, works creatively and collaboratively with all departments

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Designs and edits marketing materials such as posters, event fliers, website materials, digital ads and brochures\. Manages production and display of marketing materials as needed
+ Supports and trains resident volunteers who administer webpages for clubs, groups and neighborhoods within Sun City Huntley
+ Supports residents and staff on using the Association’s website and mobile app
+ Provides training, orientation and guidance to residents on staff on website and mobile app function
+ Manages Group Admin function in Northstar
+ Documents events and programs, including taking photos, Facebook, mobile app and Powerpoint presentations
+ Develops design concepts and themes to communicate specific marketing and community involvement and brand management
+ Works collaboratively with Communications Coordinator on website, magazine and weekly e\-blast content
+ Serve as back\-up in absence of Communications Coordinator
+ Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

99. Strong written and verbal communication skills in terms of English composition, grammar, and spelling\.
99. Knowledge of visual art and design concepts, including illustration of various media, form design, reproduction, layout and camera processes
99. Knowledge of graphic arts and website design
99. Computer skills a must, knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs, Publisher, Outlook\.
99. General business and personnel management abilities\.
99. Self driven and motivated\.
99. Strong interpersonal skills\.
99. Understanding of the senior lifestyle culture, needs and desires\.
99. The ability to speak before groups of people to convey concepts, processes, and skills needed to complete/execute the programs\.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

+ Equivalent to an Associate Degree or major coursework in Graphic Design, Web Design, communications, marketing
+ Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs, including Outlook, Publisher, Powerpoint and Adobe
+ Comfortable with the required technologies, skills and abilities mentioned above\.
+ A flare for making what the resident sees as interesting and attractive\.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Strong multi\-tasking skills are required demonstrating the ability to work on more than one assignment at a time with interruptions, changes and delays remaining focused effective, and efficient under such circumstances\.
