What You Will Do

+ Performs escape management procedures, root cause analysis, and recommends corrective action for design problems for internally produced products & processes.

+ Ensures ability to quickly react to high pain supplier investigations, potentially requiring rapid onsite support within the supply base.

+ Analyzes and makes recommendations for corrective actions for nonconformities and/or design problems for externally produced products & processes.

+ Collaborates and troubleshoots quality issues identified within internal operation sites.

+ Ensures that projects and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts.

+ Provides analysis and explanations of testing and inspection plans, methods, and technologies to assure reliability and conformance of products and processes.

+ Reviews process control documentation to ensure it is in compliance with requirements, objectives, and/or contracts.

+ Ensures process discipline is being followed.

+ Drive accountability to all parties to ensure timing is met on critical measures.

+ Analyzes data to determine primary focus areas for improvement for select process.

+ Train suppliers on RCCA using 8D format along with PFMEA training in addition to other Collins Quality Requirements.

+ Must be able to work independently and have the ability to do some on-site support for the Rockford Illinois facility.

+ Travel up to 30% – this role will require occasional business travel to support supplier visits.

Qualifications You Must Have

+ 3 years of experience in Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, or related area is required.

+ U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

+ Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.

+ This position requires the candidate to work onsite 1 day a week at the Rockford, IL site.

Qualifications We Prefer

+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing or other related business or technical functions is preferred.

+ Aerospace industry experience is preferred.

+ Six Sigma, Red X and/or Lean Manufacturing experience is preferred.

+ Experience with industry certifications (AS9100, AS9120, AS9102, ISO9001, AS13002, FAA etc.) is preferred.

+ Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) is preferred.
