The Role
The Technical Writer II’s role is to be responsible for writing, structuring, and updating documentation resulting from Custom Networks process improvement activities. Must work closely with Custom Networks operational teams (primarily process and system resources) to create, maintain, update, and edit required documentation.
The Main Responsibilities
+ Obtain documentation or diagrams from others and convert to professional artifacts for use by Enterprise Operations employees
+ Organize and maintain document repository, including updating outdated versions, and retiring obsolete
+ Analyze documentation and diagrams across the repository to maintain a streamlined style regardless of author
+ Maintain a comprehensive electronic library of terminology and documentation
+ Collaborate with others to explore opportunities to enhance or expand document repository capabilities
+ Provide proofreading and template support to teammates
+ Keep stakeholders and impacted teams updated on planned repository changes and timelines
+ Gathering and reporting metrics for repository management progress
What We Look For in a Candidate
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent in education and related experience
1+ years related experience in a technical writing role at a technology company
Ability to translate technical concepts into everyday language
Excellent organizational skills including prioritization and time management
Maintains a collaborative and continuous improvement mindset
Proficient knowledge in MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Visio
Knowledge of English grammar rules to effectively edit procedural documents
Strong written and verbal communication skills with an exceptional attention to detail
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment
Strong business acumen and technical background
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, or Communications
5+ years related experience in a technical writing role at a technology company
Expert knowledge in MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Visio
Strong Technical background
Skilled at dealing with ambiguity in a rapidly changing environment

Compensation
The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee’s primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.
Location Based Pay Ranges
$51410 – $68540 in these states: AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD.
$54110 – $72140 in these states: AZ, AL, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY.
$56820 – $75750 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI.
$59520 – $79360 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
As with the pay range variety that’s based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.
