Job Title: Solar Superintendent

Job Description:

We are seeking a Site Superintendent to join our growing team. The primary responsibility of this position is to help lead our team in managing the construction of solar systems effectively, ensuring projects are completed within the stipulated time and budget. This role demands a daily on-site presence to oversee operations, ensuring all aspects of the projects align with our safety and quality standards. The successful candidate will be a well-organized construction professional capable of working collaboratively with various teams.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Attend site walks and pre-construction planning meeting with the CM and PM and engineering team as required.

- Manage and maintain the construction schedule, reporting back to the CM and PM on a daily basis through the daily reports and other documentation means in Procore.

- Communicate with the CM on project related safety, quality, and subcontractors’ performance.

- Set goals with the CM for all subcontractors and motivate and manage to keep on task.

- Attend all FAI inspections and lead when CM not available.

- In coordination with RQM, Perform QA/QC inspections required and keep daily inspection log up to date through all phases of the project.

- Perform SWWWP inspections per requirements, and report to CM and PM if deficiencies are identified.

- Attend weekly subcontractor calls and all others as requested.

- Coordinate the delivery of material and equipment to optimize job efficiencies.

- Conduct inspections on all equipment delivered, collect, and upload all documents pertaining to and report back deficiencies and/or missing components to CM.

- Coordinate with the subcontractors on a daily basis and initiate any questions through the RFI system with the CM.

- Contribute feedback and creative problem-solving methodology to other MCR team members.

- Adhere to MCR’s safety standards and installation best practices.

- Take responsibility for the safety of all crew members.

- Willing to address unsafe conditions and discipline crew members not complying.

- Ability to travel to sites outside of your territory when needed.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

+ 3+ years of solar superintendent or construction supervision experience

+ Not internship or experience outside of the United States

+ 3+ years of electrical or mechanical experience

+ Not internship or experience outside of the United States

+ Strong technology knowledge

+ OSHA 10 required. If a candidate does not have an OSHA 10 or cannot find their card, Aerotek will reimburse the cost for the course

+ Good verbal and written communication (Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus, not required)

+ Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and contract exhibits

+ Must be analytical, organized, and have a high level of attention to detail

+ Disciplined, self-motivated work style. Ability to work both independently and as a team player who listens, learns, and actively communicates

+ Ability to influence people to adhere to company policies, procedures, and instructions

+ Proficient in operating a computer and laptop, with ability to learn new software

+ 3+ years’ experience as a site superintendent or equivalent role in the solar industry

+ Experience with mechanical, civil, and electrical aspects of installation of solar arrays

+ Visual thinker who is good at problem solving and implementing ideas

+ Construction safety awareness and comprehension

+ Industrial relations knowledge for recognizing and resolving potential labor issues

+ Conflict management skills

+ Multi-tasking ability (prioritize, organize, schedule work)

+ Problem-solving skills (identify, analyze, research, evaluate, resolve)

+ Strong knowledge of various areas of construction (civil, mechanical, electrical, etc.)

+ Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to lead a diverse group of individuals

+ Risk assessment/management

+ Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and scheduling software

+ Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and be eligible for corporate vehicle insurance.

Work Environment

+ The role requires working outdoors most of the time, with a site trailer provided as a field office

+ The position involves working for a general contractor to perform quality control tasks

+ Work hours are Monday-Friday from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, with common weekend work

+ Overtime can range from 0-15 hours per week

+ A per diem of $120 for days worked is offered
