What Transportation contributes to Cardinal Health

Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.

Transportation is responsible for the movement of materials and products between suppliers, manufacturing, warehousing and the customer. Management of transportation assets and systems to gain greater service, cost efficiency and optimization of processes.

Job Summary

As a part of the Network Design team, you will support new business opportunities and optimization initiatives consisting of transportation cost modeling, customer contract negotiations, route and location optimization, cost-to-serve analysis, and fleet equipment optimization. You will collaborate with Legal, Finance, Supply Planning, Pharma Distribution, Sales, Data Analytics, and transportation carriers to challenge network constraints and ensure we have the proper business requirements.

Responsibilities

+ Assess and identify opportunities to improve logistics product capabilities and service optimization within the Cardinal Health Logistics network.

+ Support new business opportunities and optimization initiatives consisting of transportation cost modeling, customer contract negotiations, route and location optimization, cost-to-serve analysis, and fleet equipment optimization.

+ Leverage our modeling software to set up our network models and optimize for cost and service.

+ Utilize data analysis to identify andcoordinate network optimization opportunities to increase efficiency, improve service levels and/or reduce cost.

+ Recommend solutions. Summarize the financial and operational impact of the recommendation and pros/cons of alternatives considered.

+ Support and develop original, creative, and forward-thinking logistics products and services to improve existing business processes within supply chain utilizing methods such as statistical analysis, regression modeling and optimization.

+ Create processes, procedures, and routines within the organization to operationalize new capabilities.

+ Build relationships across the enterprise to inform decisions and maintain feedback channels.

Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred

+ 8-12 years of experience, preferred

+ 2+ years of experience with networkoptimization and analytics tools preferred (Llamasoft/Supply Chain Guru, Alteryx, Tableau)

+ Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and working with databases preferred

+ Professional level business writing skills

+ Proficient with Microsoft Office products

+ Expert quantitative analysis skills preferred

+ Proven ability to work as part of a team as the key analytical resource

+ Excellent communication skills with an ability to explain quantitative analysis in simple business terms preferred

+ Intellectual curiosity, humility, genuine respect and desire to help others

+ Bias for action and passion for driving change

Anticipated salary range: $86,400 – $121,600
