Job Summary:
Functional expert responsible for the planning, staffing, and tactical execution of group and/or broad-based relationship management plans, programs & events. These programs are designed to strategically identify & cultivate prospects, students & alumni in meaningful ways that transition into engaged volunteers & donors.
The Associate Director develops and integrates specific strategic digital initiatives to create a pipeline of donors in support of annual giving, student philanthropy, and related goals. Strong focus on management of current and emerging fundraising technologies including the Catalyzer crowdfunding platforms, texting outreach, and new recent graduate digital outreach.
The Associate Director works with the Director on strategy related to digital/online giving initiatives and manages the execution of those initiatives across ARD teams including support and integration. As part of the broader Young Alumni, Student Philanthropy, and Online Giving team, this position works closely on promotion and cross team collaboration to support all areas of the programs.
Activities this role will complete:
Coordination of strategy and execution with the Director related to programs specifically run by the Associate Director. Development/management/coordination of program execution related to all student group fundraising initiatives including, but not limited to, Catalyzer, and other complex student group fundraising management. Including the recruitment and management of the Catalyzer Review Committee and volunteer fundraisers.
Development/management/coordination of program execution related to non-student use of Catalyzer including department, alumni clubs, and other groups.
Development/management/coordination of program execution related to the integration of texting with existing campaigns and programs.
Development/management/coordination of program execution related to recent graduate outreach with focus on emerging segments.
Reporting and analytics related to program specific needs.
Financial/budget balancing and related activities.
Identification and acquisition of materials/information to successfully execute programs.
Help to develop innovative outreach techniques to reach targeted cohorts.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously and understand team priorities in the context of Annual Giving goals.
Other duties to be assigned related to overall Annual Giving program.
Serves as liaison to both University and Northwestern Alumni Association (NAA). Key liaison with ARD Marketing and Communications, and Gift and Record Services for digital platforms when applicable. All members of the Annual Giving - Young Alumni, Student Philanthropy, and Online Giving team support the execution of on campus, student facing events. This position will be based in Illinois and will not have the option to be 100% remote.
