Job Description
Olin Winchester, LLC ("Winchester"), considered one of the world's leading ammunition manufacturers,is seeking a Maintenance Machinist Trainee - Hourly. This position will be located at the East Alton, IL facility.
The starting wage for a Maintenance Machinist Trainee is $38.58/hour. Upon successfully completing a one-year Maintenance Machinist Trainee program, individuals may move into a General Machinist classification at $40.58/hour.

Essential Functions*:
Troubleshoot, repair, and disassemble/reassemble machinery.
Perform preventative maintenance.
Machine parts as needed.
Assist with process improvement and initiate change.
Use a variety of hand tools and manual lathes/mills.
Adhere to all safety requirements including lockout/tagout and wearing required PPE.
Position Requirements*:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must meet one of the following requirements:
Minimum two-year Vo-Tech program, such as Machine Tool Operations, Industrial Machinist, or an equivalent program; OR,
Minimum of two years of relative shop experience
Experience must include work on manual conventional lathes/mills, boring mills, machine shop equipment, and repair work.
Ability to climb ladders, enter confined spaces and lift and carry 50 lbs.
Experience operating heavy equipment such as a forklift, tractor, crane, and backhoe preferred.
Strong math and blueprint reading.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Current Maintenance Machinist Trainee schedule is straight days. Must have flexibility to work, rotating weekly shifts (midnights, afternoons, days,) weekends and forced overtime.
This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
