Job Description
30% Under direction, serves as the Accounts Receivable Clerk performing technical accounting work for Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT):
- Maintains a complete set of complex accounts books in the billing and receivable system for DolT funds.
- Reviews financial records, summary reports, and ledgers using automated and manual systems to prepare daily, monthly, and yearly fiscal accounting.
25% Posts cash receipts to accounting systems and maintains subsidiary ledgers, receipts, and deposit records through updating the appropriate accounts and systems.
15% Performs the final review and distribution of billings, aging reports, and supporting detail to user agencies:
- Reviews and reconciles supporting detail and pass-through vendor invoices to the control documents.
15% Assists with complex cash application procedures, including posting to control registers, preparation, and reconciliation of input, and research and correction of any accounting/invoice number identifiers:
- Receives and processes all checks, money orders, and cash collected by the agency.
- Schedules checks on clearing deposit forms.
- Prepares transmittal forms for the IOC or Treasurer.
- Deposits and delivers transmittal forms to the Treasurer's Office daily in a timely manner.
- Prepares receipts and deposits.
- Transmits and delivers receipts deposits to the IOC daily in a timely manner.
10% Responds to user agency billing inquiries including researching problems with underlying supporting detail, vendor pass-through invoices, and account and address changes:
- Provides assistance as needed to other accounting staff.
5% Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
