Responsibilities

 

Reporting to the IDEAL Electrical group controller, this position will play a pivotal role in driving financial excellence and supporting operations. Partner closely with operations leadership, providing strategic recommendations based on comprehensive financial analysis. The successful candidate will have a collaborative approach to coaching peers to enhance their financial acumen and developing employees to elevate the performance of the team.
This role:
Operations controllership responsibility for the Sycamore, IL manufacturing location and distribution warehouses in Sycamore and Atlanta
Support group initiatives to achieve goals and targets
Foster strong cross-functional relationships to drive financial and operational performance
Support performance by providing operations with financial insights and reporting of plant metrics and KPIs
Subject matter expert for development of standard costs based on Company policy. Need to review and communicate cost build-up and changes in costs with finance and non-finance personnel
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Functions as the lead accounting and finance professional in the plant and serves as the business partner to the Operations Management Team focusing on providing financial and operational leadership and improvements, including identifying and driving cost reductions.
Partner closely with Operations to make sure they have the information & tools needed to successfully lead and create value at their respective locations.
Forward looking team member that takes joint accountability for delivering financial and operational commitments.
Framing financial and operational issues in a complete business case format and positively contributing to the strategic direction in the plant.
Review and execute opportunities to improve and/or standardize processes and routines business processes to drive value creation.
Foster a climate of continuous improvement and accountability for results through skills enhancement, coaching, performance measurement and feedback
Manage and drive efficiencies related to inventory levels
Develop and manage labor and OH rates
Develop business cases related to capital requirements and support the capital planning process
Own forecasting process for plant and distribution locations

 


Qualifications

 

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, MBA and/or CPA preferred
Minimum of 10 years experience in progressive finance/accounting roles
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience implementing ERP system preferred
Experience in a centralized Supply Chain Finance org preferred
Proven experience in a leadership role, with a track record of successfully partnering with senior leadership
Exceptional analytic skills and proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools
Strong customer service and communication skills, ability to convey complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced evolving environment
Flexible, collaborative, and proactive individual
Strong work ethic and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills at all levels of an organization. Ability to mentor, motivate, influence and persuade others
Advanced written and verbal communication skills
Independent thinking, organizational and planning abilities, analytical, and problem-solving skills
