Job Description
Duties and responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Head of Special Collections, the Special Collections/Archives Assistant provides general reference/research service for the Bradley community and for researchers and visitors from the general public. This position supports the Center’s activities, initiatives, and mission.
This position:
- Helps with routine office and reading room operations for Special Collections and University Archives including supervising the reading room, answering phone and email messages, monitoring and reordering archival preservation and other supplies, retrieval and refiling of collection materials, maintaining department records and network files, maintaining monthly statistics, and contributing to monthly and annual reports.
- Performs basic procedures in the preservation and organization of collections (requires minimal training)
- Supports SCC instruction, outreach and promotional efforts by assisting others in preparing and retrieving materials for events, class visits, and exhibits.
- Specific assignments and responsibilities may vary and other relevant duties may be assigned
