Job Summary:
The Office of Accounting Services for Research and Sponsored Programs (ASRSP) assists university researchers with financial reporting, invoicing, collecting revenue, coordinating audits, and processing transactions related to their sponsored projects.
Reporting to the Senior Director, the Director aides in the operations of ASRSP and manages a team of Grant and Financial Administrators that are responsible for post-award grants management.
Specific Responsibilities:
Supervising, evaluating and mentoring staff; training new staff in granting agency policies, processes and procedures; assisting with the monitoring of performance measurements for the office.
Reviewing and approving financial reports and invoices for compliance with granting agency guidelines.
Assisting with the management of audits performed by granting agencies; facilitating the audit process by providing records and information; assisting internal auditors during review of accounts; acting as liaison between academic departments and auditors.
Responding to inquiries from principal investigators, business administrators, and granting agency representatives on a timely basis.
Representing ASRSP at internal and external meetings and committees.
Coordinating the development of new processes and procedures improving timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting.
Managing the activities of the office in the absence of the Director.

Minimum Qualifications:
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field.
A minimum of 5 years of work experience in accounting or related field.
A minimum of 10 years progressively responsible experience in the administration of sponsored research (post award preferred).
Demonstrated expert level of knowledge of:
Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)
Supervisory skills; knowledge of sponsored project administration
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in the use of spreadsheet, database, and word processing software.
Preferred Qualifications:
M.B.A. or Certified Research Administrator (CRA) and 10 years related experience in sponsored projects administration.
Target hiring range for this position will be between $98,447-$123,059 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
