Job Description

The Electrician must possess & actively apply the knowledge of electrical & electronic circuit operations of electromechanical, electrical & electronically operated equipment & systems. The electrician is proficient in problem solving and is capable of independently troubleshooting functions regarding maintenance, repair & construction. The electrician exemplifies the client's mission, vision & values in accordance with the client's policies and procedures.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintain & repair normal & emergency power distributions systems
Maintain, repair & test emergency generators & associated equipment - motor control centers, fire alarm systems and devices, pneumatic tube system, etc
Install telephone lines; punch down to IDF
Install & maintain indoor & outdoor lighting circuits, power outlets, motors, battery back-up systems, etc

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - must meet or exceed the following requirements:
High school diploma or GED
4-year apprenticeship program and/or equivalent experience
Proficient in electrical construction & installation of electrical devices in a craftsman-like manner
Able to read & interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics & service manuals
Able to read, write & communicate effectively in performance of job assignments
Possess the physical strength & dexterity to effectively perform work assignments
Own & use a complete set of hand tools necessary for the trade
