Job Title: Polysomnography Technologist II (Registered) -Daytime
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Sleep Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for improving sleep health and promoting overall well-being. As a Registered Daytime Sleep Technologist, you will be responsible for supporting physicians in clinic and providing patient education on CPAP equipment usage as well as treatment options for sleep disorders.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions
* Support physicians at clinic and provides Patient education:
o retrieves PAP treatment data for physicians interpretation
o assists patients with mask refits, questions, concerns and other issues relating to CPAP compliance
o troubleshoots PAP equipment issues
o coordinates with homecare company regarding equipment coverage and arranges homecare follow up as needed
o Performs QI assessments for CPAP compliance. Follows all regulatory agencies guidelines
o follows up with patients as necessary
o Educates patients regarding sleep disorders and treatment options
o Reviews results of polysomnogram with patients
o Provides mask fitting and establishes a desensitization program if indicated
o Explains compliance requirements
* Perform Sleep Procedures when required such as:
o PSGS
o Titrations
o Home Sleep studies
o Daytime procedure( MSLT, MWT, PAP NAP)
* Sleep records scoring
* Counsels/troubleshoots patient phone inquiries & arrange appropriate action for follow up
* Follows up with homecare companies for patient care/coverage/equipment, completes letter and certificate of medical necessity documentation as required.
* Maintains appropriate CPAP mask inventory at each location
Qualifications:
Minimum Education Level
* High school diploma or equivalent is required.
* Certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) through the Board of Registered. Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) or equivalent certification.
* * Completion of the American Sleep Technologists Education Program (ASTEP), qualification demonstrates a commitment to standardized education and professional development in the field of sleep technology.
* Experience working in a sleep center or related healthcare setting.
* Strong knowledge of sleep disorders, diagnostic procedures, and treatment options.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Proficiency in operating sleep monitoring equipment and computer software.
Minimum Licensure Requirements
* CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
* Certification as Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) offered by The Board of Registry Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT).
* CCSH preferred.

Minimum Work Experience
* Minimum 3 years of experience in Sleep technology Field. Patient education experience preferred.
* College level neuroanatomy is desirable. Knowledge of the respiratory system. Competency in medical terminology. Must be patient, have good interpersonal skills and be able to treat patients of various ages (babies to geriatric adults), backgrounds, with and without mental and/or physical limitations with respect and dignity. Must be able to work as a team player (i.e. with physicians, other medical staff and colleagues).
Working Conditions
* Sitting: 50 %
* Standing/Walking: 50%
* May be required to move or lift equipment and linens as part of housekeeping duties.
* Repetitive task includes data entry, word-processing, video monitoring.
* In the performance of the job, the employee may be exposed to chemical vapors such as alcohol.
* There may also be skin contact with these substances.
* The employee may also be exposed to infectious agents including blood-borne pathogens.
