Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary 
 The Graduate Assistant for the College of Business will report to the CoB Director of Operations, with engagement from the Dean of CoB and the Career Services Coordinator assigned to CoB. The Graduate Assistant will work to support a variety of initiatives within the College of Business' Career Services' programs, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. These duties will primarily relate to resume critiques and interview readiness activities.
Responsibilities 
 Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University's Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.

Responsibilities include:
1. Successfully enroll and complete the resume writing training program, including the CPRW exam, through the Professional Association of Resume Writers & Career Coaches.
2. Create and offer weekly one-on-one resume critique sessions for CoB/GSM undergraduate and graduate students
3. In coordination with Career Services, develop and continually refine a portfolio of sample resumes for students to access
4. Support the CoB Career Services Coordinator in offering expanded career readiness resources and programming such as job search strategies, interviewing techniques and setting up LinkedIn profile pages.
5. Maintain records of individual and group student assistance, in respect to resume, cover letter and other interview readiness assignments
6. Create and send informational emails, invitations, and reminder emails for special events that relate to Career Services programming for CoB
7. Attendance and support at events - including, but not limited to: greet attendees, assist with name tags, provide instructions to students, and monitor list of check-ins.
8. Create content for CoB social media accounts (i.e., Facebook, Twitter and Instagram)
9. Participate in meetings as requested.
10. Assist the CoB Director of Operations or designee in special projects as assigned.
11. Independently organize, manage, and complete projects per established timeline, as assigned. 12. Complete formal project proposals, reports, and summaries as requested.
Minimum Qualifications 
 Bachelor's degree required and must be enrolled full-time and maintain academic excellence in one of Lewis University's graduate programs within one of the GSM Graduate Degree Programs. Available to work primarily during the College of Business's office hours and evenings or weekends on an as-needed basis. Additionally, may need to work at the Oak Brook location for Lewis. Experience working with culturally diverse populations. Experience creating and maintain various social media platforms, including LinkedIn.
Preferred Qualifications 
 1. Experience with professional writing
2. Demonstrated creativity & strong analytical skills
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
5. Ability to create PDF documents and forms 6. Graphic design in Adobe Illustrator, Canva or similar programs
7. Accomplished leadership skills
8. Self-motivated & Goal Oriented
9. Ability to organize and complete multiple projects effectively as assigned.
10. Ability to meet assigned deadlines
Essential Duties
Work hours  
 Part-time approximately 20 hours per week. Regular business hours: M-F 8:30-5:00 p.m.
Some nights and weekends when needed.
