Position Summary
First Shift - M - F with some flexibility to scheduled start/end times.
Work Location - Wheeling, IL
This is a high mix, low volume environment The focus is high quality premium products, and compliance to written standards.

The role reports to the Quality Manager. The CMM Programmer is part of a workgroup that will include other inspection and QMS related functions. The CMM Programmer will be the team's leader in knowledge and understanding of inspection methods and equipment.

The CMM Programmer / Quality Inspector is responsible for creating CMM inspection programs and performing visual and dimensional inspections and reporting the results of the inspections, for the following:

First Piece Inspection Reports
Receiving inspection
Final Inspection
First Article Reports

Key Job Functionsincluded but not limited to:
Programming of Mitutoyo CMM using MCOSMOS software and Renishaw touch probes
Receiving Inspection:Process receiving inspection using dimensional and visual techniques
In-process Inspection:Complete first piece inspections
Final Inspection:Support daily final inspections on product ready for shipment, as needed.
Shop Support:Support shop personnel as requested with inspection activities.
Communication:Communicate to others within the company using verbal and written communications.
Quality Improvement:Work with Destaco machinists, assemblers, and vendors to improve product quality.
Cleanliness:Maintain cleanliness of work areas

Familiarity with Quality Management Systems

Requirements:
Strong knowledge of CMM programming for manufacturing environment and tight-tolerance machined parts.
Familiar with manufacturing operations, processes and procedures
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret drawings
Strong knowledge of (GD&T)
Strong Knowledge of measuring instruments (caliper, micrometer, bore gages, etc.)
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
Computer literacy - Microsoft Office Suite

Experience:
Previous CMM programming experience
Previous parts inspection experience matching to blueprint specifications.
At least two years of experience working in a manufacturing environment required.

Education and Certification Qualifications
High School Degree or higher

Working Environment
Standing, sitting, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting.
Air controlled environment.
Safety glasses and steel toe footwear required.
