The Opportunity:
Avantor seeks a motivated and experienced Global Procurement Leader to join our team.

The ideal candidate will lead a team of Market Source procurement professionals. Ensure timely and accurate execution of Market Source orders on behalf of our customers, including open order management, sourcing, expediting, cross reference support, and credits and returns. Serve as key supply chain representative on all Customer /Sales issues related to Market Source. Work closely with the Sales team, customers, and suppliers to identify and resolve the root cause of supply chain issues. Lead purchasing teams and cross-functional teams to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the VWR Supply Chain. Drive and influence timely decision-making. Hold self and team accountable for the timely execution of operational goals and objectives.

What we're looking for

Education: College degree or equivalent experience required; MBA a plus

Experience: 6+ Years of broad Supply Chain experience; 1+ year of leadership experience.

Understanding of forecast and replenishment theory, obtained through APICS or similar training coursework.

Strong analytical skills

Proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, Access, Word)

Proficient in Expert knowledge and practical use of Forecasting and Inventory Planning tools; i.e. Logility, SAP, or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

Global Supply Chain experience is highly desirable.

APICS/CPIM certification desirable

Formal problem-solving training is desirable, i.e. Six Sigma

Solid written and verbal communication skills, and experience in a matrix environment are desirable.

Leads daily Market Source procurement activities.

Authority to commit significant VWR resources on behalf of the company.

Applies appropriate mathematical and statistical tools to resolve complex business issues.

Assess network constraint issues and makes recommendations to reduce or eliminate constraints to the leadership team and key stakeholders.

Proactively reviews customer order replenishment strategies to optimize inventory investment.

Analyzes trends in Key Performance Indicators; allocates department resources to drive continuous improvement.

Drives process standardization.

Negotiates resolutions in the best interest of VWR.

Responsible for active mentoring, training and development, and performance management of direct reports.

Performs other duties as assigned.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)
Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.
A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis.
Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less
