Job Description
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in the manufacturing industry, located in DEKALB, Illinois. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including maintaining accurate records and resolving discrepancies.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize Accounting Software Systems for data entry and to maintain accurate records
- Process customer credit applications efficiently
- Monitor customer credit accounts and take necessary actions to collect delinquent payments
- Operate Great Plains (GPAC), IBM AS/400, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, and Microsoft Excel to perform various accounting functions
- Manage the check processing system
- Resolve any discrepancies in customer credit records
- Communicate with customers and resolve their credit inquiries
- Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure all processes are executed accurately
- Ensure all accounts payable procedures are followed and updated as necessary
- Implement improvements to the accounts payable system to increase efficiency and accuracy. Requirements – Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
- Familiarity with Great Plains (GPAC)
- Experience with IBM AS/400
- Knowledge of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to perform Accounting Functions
- Experience in Accounts Payable (AP)
- Familiarity with Check Processing
- Strong Data Entry skills
- Ability to handle Discrepancy resolution
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Experience in a team-oriented workplace
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation
