Robert Half is hiring for an opportunity to join our client’s team as an Accounts Payable Specialist in the transport industry! Based in Milan, Illinois, you will be primarily responsible for managing accounts payable duties, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of payments, and maintaining meticulous records. This role provides the chance to work within a dynamic team and contribute to our ongoing success!

Our client has a team member transitioning to partial retirement and working part-time. We are looking to fill the role to provide crossover training and potentially open it up for a permanent position.

Compensation for this position is $20-25/hour, dependent on skills and experience.

Responsibilities:

Coding payments accurately

Communicating with vendors as needed

Reviewing statements and outstanding bills

Invoicing and preparing payments (bi-monthly)

Ensuring correct GL coding for divisions and departments, which requires time to learn

Managing the bulk of coding and other payable tasks

Scanning and data entry of invoices (both electronic and paper)

Double-checking the scanner’s parsed information for accuracy and correct vendor info

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior AP experience or an accounting degree (though not required)

Proficiency in MS Word and basic Excel (mainly for data entry and report pulling)

Experience in manufacturing or with parts is a plus
