As the O&E Strategy Consultant, this person will lead and support the strategic growth initiatives for Caterpillar Business Units through the Operating and Executing (O&E) model tools and governance. In addition, support strategy development including partnering with numerous Caterpillar functional areas as well as Caterpillar dealer engagement.

The O&E Strategy Consultant will be expected to provide support with strategic growth plan development through the O&E model, enhance existing O&E processes, and support dealer growth initiatives:
+ Work with business unit leadership to define strategic growth initiatives through the O&E Annual Reviews and OIA development & maintenance.
+ Challenge status quo for long term growth through resource allocation and O&E review processes using industry and competitive insights.
+ Support Growth Plans with dealers via insights and analysis through financial and data modeling.
+ Assist and lead ad hoc process improvement projects throughout ESD and Caterpillar Business Units.
+ Thoroughly understand, follow, and provide process improvements to O&E, Leadership Tables, and OIA reference guides and playbook.
+ Provide governance on certain aspects of the leadership table framework ensuring alignment to strategic initiatives needing dealer engagement (OIA’s to Business Cases).
+ Coach and mentor junior staff.
The O&E Strategy Consultant demonstrates excellent communication skills working with various functional groups throughout Caterpillar. They will exhibit an intellectual curiosity for both process improvements and alternative business strategy development for long term growth opportunities. They will be comfortable presenting findings challenging status quo to senior leaders with healthy debate.
Skills to be successful in this role:
+ Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance/corporate financing or accounting, economics, or mathematics; 8+ years of accounting, management consulting or finance-related experience
+ Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of “big picture” thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.
+ Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
+ Financial Analysis : Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
+ Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.
+ Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs through the use of appropriate communication behaviors.
Additional Details:
+ This position would ideally be located in Peoria, IL; however open to considering other Caterpillar facilities within the United States
+ Domestic relocation is available for those who qualify
+ <10% travel is expected
