The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and highly analytical Insurance Procurement and Compliance Manager to join our organization. The Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams and our insurance brokerage partners to protect our employees, guests, and properties through the placement of insurance programs The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the insurance renewal process, gathering all hotel risk exposure data for the underwriting submissions, and working to maintain and update our various risk management information systems.

The Role

1. Insurance Renewal Management: Manages the insurance renewal process, including the collection of underwriting data, timely submission to insurance brokers, review of insurance proposals, evaluation of risk financing alternatives, and prepares recommendations to supervisor and VP Risk Management. Work to update presentations for underwriting meetings.

2. Policy Documentation: Review the coverage binders and insurance policies to ensure the coverage bound matches the agreed upon terms and conditions and the delivered policies include all intended endorsements.

3. Insurance Financial Management : Works closely with Finance team to review, approve, and track insurance premiums, vendor invoices, internal charges, allocations, etc., to ensure accurate TCOR calculations and budget/forecasting up to date on the timing of new hotel openings

4. Risk Information Systems : Update our risk information systems to include the exposure data and the results (premium costs, limits, deductibles, etc.) of the insurance renewals. Use certificate management tool to monitor compliance of managed and franchised hotels.

5. Property Survey: Manage the process for collecting accurate property exposure data from the hotels. Work with hotels to set up trainings of importance of the data and consult on questions they may have concerning the Property program.

6. Hotel Requests: Explain complex insurance coverages, and insurance costs to business partners, including, but not limited to hotel owners, leadership teams, legal, and other key stakeholders. Provide training to hotels on the self-service features of the Risk Portal.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field. 5 years full-time experience in insurance/risk management industry. Knowledge of insurance policies and coverages. Associate in Risk Management (ARM) or other insurance designation preferred. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, using tools such as Excel and Risk Management Information Systems. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively. Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and influence stakeholders at various levels.
