Job Title: CNC Machine Operator Trainee
Job Description
Join our team as a Machinist Trainee with a starting rate of $18 per hour. In this role, you will learn to set up and operate CNC Machines, manual mills, and lathes to produce precision parts efficiently. You will be trained step-by-step by an experienced trainer, following a ‘Teach them, show them, then show me’ approach. Your training will include positioning and fastening workpieces, selecting appropriate tools and materials, machining parts to specifications, and more. You will also go through an onboarding system including a 5S program, hazard assessment, and safety training.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 720 Hour(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Springfield, Illinois.
Work Environment
The positions are available for Night shift (M-Th 7:30pm-6am), Weekend Day shift (Fri-Sun 6am-6:30pm), and Weekend Night shift (Fri-Sun 6pm-6:30am). Some overtime may be required with a 24-hour notice. You will work in a large machine shop environment as part of a team of approximately 165 employees. Our main suppliers are leaders in the industry, supplying large equipment for mining and gear cutting.
For weekend shifts- work 36 hours get paid for 40 hours.
