Zurich North America is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Claims Recovery Specialist to join our team. The selected candidate will be able to report to one of the following North American Claims offices: Atlanta, GA; Parsippany, NJ; Schaumburg, IL; Overland Park, KS; Rocky Hill, CT; Addison, TX; Omaha, NE; Maitland, FL; Gold River, CA; or New York, NY.

In this role, you will collaborate with claims professionals under close supervision to handle recovery/subrogation Defense Base Act/War Hazard claims, focusing on cases of low to moderate exposure and complexity to ensure prompt and equitable resolutions.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

+ Investigate low to moderate exposure claims to identify recovery potential.

+ Document claim files thoroughly to support case management and recovery strategy.

+ Proactively pursue subrogation interests with the U.S. Government to maximize recovery efforts.

+ Develop and maintain relationships with key business partners, including claim professionals, Claims Team Managers, and internal/external Zurich customers.

Basic Qualifications:

+ Bachelors Degree and no prior experience required in the Insurance Industry areaOR

+ High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Insurance Industry areaOR

+ Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an associate degree and no prior experience required in the Insurance Industry area

Preferred Qualifications:

+ 3 or more years of experience handling Claims and Subrogation area

+ Experience handling Workers’ Compensation or Defense Base Act claims

+ Effective verbal and written communication skills

+ Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

+ Strong multitasking and prioritization abilities

+ Experience collaborating in a team environment and building cross-functional working relationships

+ Proactive sharing of insights and gathering unique perspectives from other teams/functions

+ Understanding, analysis, and application of insurance policy components for moderate claims

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, specifically Excel

Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Zurich provides in good faith a reasonable range of compensation for roles. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education. The salary provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. The starting salary range for this position is $47,500.00 – $77,800.00.
