This role is HYBRID, on-site 3 days a week at our Northbrook or Chicago, IL Office.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior International Tax Analyst to join our Global Tax department. This person will join a team of tax enthusiasts that keep up to date on tax technical skills and tax technology to drive advanced automated solutions and efficiencies. As a Senior International Tax Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with tax regulations and optimizing tax strategies. You will work closely with the finance team to analyze financial data, prepare tax returns, tax filings and supporting documentation, and provide valuable insights to support decision-making processes.

In this role, you will work with the Tax management team on U.S. and non-U.S. related tax matters to assure Federal and non U.S. tax compliance requirements are met accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare and assist with the filing of U.S. international tax returns (5471s, 8858s, 1118, 8990, 8991, etc.).

+ Prepare computations and key analysis related to GILTI, BEAT, FDII, FTC, etc.) to meet UL’s reporting requirements.

+ Prepare and assist in the implementation of Pillar 2 computations and reporting.

+ Analyze accounts and reports, prepare analysis and supporting documentation related to transfer pricing and non-US tax matters.

+ Provide guidance to Corporate Finance employees as well as other departments and auditors on moderately complex US and non-US tax issues.

+ Responsible for complex and interpretive financial research and analysis for middle or senior management for use in the development and measurement of business strategies and tactics with a focus on UL’s non-US activities.

+ Provide analytical insight and information to auditors relating to U.S. federal and non U.S. income tax matters.

+ Prepare and update transfer pricing documentation.

+ Assist with interim and annual tax provision process.

+ Assist with process improvement projects related to the international tax workstreams utilizing technology-driven solutions to streamline and improve process efficiencies.

+ Apply fundamental accounting concepts and practices with a focus on transfer pricing and non-US tax matters.

+ Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis for middle and senior management based on UL’s financial performance.

+ Advise applicable company functions/departments on international tax laws and regulations such as: income taxes, tax treaties, and tax withholdings.

Professional Experience and Qualifications

+ University Degree (Equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor’s Degree) in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.

+ Minimum two years work experience in international tax. CPA preferred.

+ Ability to interpret domestic and international tax concepts and regulations.

+ Demonstrated ability to analyze data and calculate the impact opportunities have on the company.

+ Working knowledge of the U.S. tax legislation and accounting principles.

+ Working knowledge of ASC 740, accounting for income taxes preferred.

+ Experience in OneSource preferred. Experience in tax automation projects and strong data analytics skills are preferred.

+ Experience in transfer pricing and knowledge of the international provisions of US tax reform preferred.
