Job Description

Actalent is hiring a Controls Technician for a premier employer in Quincy, Illinois! This role involves working with and training both new and existing robots, supporting production by troubleshooting and repairing equipment, and assisting in product and tooling changeovers. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn programming in structured text and how to use CAD programs to view and manipulate line layouts. Additionally, the role includes troubleshooting electrical issues, viewing I/O cards, and identifying the root cause of problems. Advanced responsibilities include troubleshooting robotic adhesive applications, robotic weld applications, and robotic material handling systems, as well as other industrial systems or machinery as needed. The Controls Technician will also evaluate and process Engineering Change Orders, collaborate with internal teams, modify system HMI & operations, and develop new processes and tooling.

Hard Skills

Work Environment

The role requires collaboration with both internal teams and external resources to resolve system incompatibilities, enforce good design for manufacturability principles, and engage product engineering with design-related issues. The candidate will also be involved in training operations staff and providing guidance to Automation Specialists on advanced modes of failure.
