We are looking for a commercially minded lawyer to support the PDS business line. Specifically in relation to construction, data center, engineering and project related services.

The role will require in-depth knowledge and understanding of construction, related services, contracting and regulatory compliance including:

data centre related contracts including preventative maintenance and equipment installation services
supplier/subcontractor contracts
design and/or build contracts including industry templates such as AIA/DBIA contracts
consultant/technical services appointments (cost consultancy, project management)
working knowledge of regulatory landscape and requirements for delivery of licensed services/engineering in NY and other US states as required
outsourcing/FM contracts
Strong contract interpretation and drafting skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; must be adept at identifying key legal issues, developing creative solutions to complicated legal problems, and effectively communicating the same to internal stakeholders and clients
Experience working in the professional services sector a plus
Understanding of risk management/mitigation issues as they relate to contracts for professional services

Core Responsibilities
Actively draft and negotiate complex project management, design & build, facilities management, and related consulting services agreements with clients
Participate in Americas and PDS Commercial Review Board meetings and present to senior executives and management on areas of legal, commercial, and operational risks present in client contracts, the existence of operational and contractual mitigants, and the scope of services to be performed
Analyze complex contractual risks and counsel business teams on operational and legal issues associated with client contracts, as well as matters of contract interpretation, implementation, and risk mitigation strategies
Serve as a strategic partner to the Work Dynamics and PDS business teams which includes providing legal support to help advance various business initiatives including the launch of new commercial products and service offerings
Develop and lead regular trainings on various legal topics to internal JLL stakeholders and legal team members
Counsel internal business clients on a wide variety of legal issues that arise in the context of performing services for JLL's Work Dynamics client accounts
Liaise with JLL's Risk ManagementDepartment and other internal support functions (e.g., Finance, HR, Tax, Information Security, Compliance) to identify, assess, and thoughtfully mitigate JLL's exposure to risk
Provide support on litigated and non-litigated commercial claims
Perform legal research as needed

Qualifications
Juris Doctor from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record
Minimum of 6 years' experience as a practicing attorney with a focus on construction, engineering, project management, facilities management and related services
Strong knowledge of construction law principles, contracts, regulations and industry standards
Proven experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and management
Combination of in-house experience and private practice is a plus
Experience with the data center industry a plus
Licensed to practice law in Illinois
Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential
Able to conceptualize and articulate pragmatic/creative legal and business solutions to complex legal and business challenges
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on collaboration.
