Position: Clinical Dietitian - Outpatient
Location: Chicago, IL (see location details in summary below)
Full Time 40 hours per week
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am -4:30pm
Required Travel: No
What you will need:
Bachelor of Science degree
Current Illinois state license as a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist
Current registration as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
Current certification by the Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) preferred
Fluency in Spanish, Urdu, Hindi or Arabic a plus.
EPIC experience preferred
JOB SUMMARY:
The Outpatient Registered Dietitian (RD) plans, directs, and provides medical nutrition therapy to patients and caregivers in an individual or group setting.
This unique role will split their time between Swedish Hospital's Nutrition & Diabetes Center and the Wound Clinic. They will educate patients on a variety of nutrition topics from blood sugar management to general healthy eating habits. The RD will have access to frequent follow-ups when seeing Wound Clinic patients as they can be seen in conjunction with their medical appointment. The RD will also have access to and trained on the tools offered by the Nutrition and Diabetes Center:
Indirect calorimetry for weight maintenance
Oral supplementation for patients with wounds or malnutrition
Diabetes supplies like meters and continuous glucose monitors
Point-of-care hemoglobin A1c testing
The RD will be required to obtain the Nutrition Wound Care Certification (expense covered by the Wound Clinic) and will work collaboratively with both the Nutrition Department, including our inpatient and Community Nutrition teams, and the Wound Clinic.
