Position Details

The Enterprise Learning & Development Consultant supports Grainger's Enterprise Learning and Leadership Development (L&LD) Portfolio targeted at building and deploying learning to productively accelerate talent development at Grainger. This portfolio consists of a variety of Leadership, Career, and Professional Development courses and programs. Reporting to the Director of Learning & Leadership Development, the Learning & Development Consultant will focus on learning delivery in face-to-face and virtual environments, coaching business facilitators, and preparing Guides and Producers to support Enterprise L&LD programs. You will also contribute to the broader team by supporting team projects or process improvement efforts.

The position is hybrid and requires a minimum of two days onsite at our Lake Forest, IL headquarters.

You Will

Deliver all learning solutions for team members and leaders through a variety of learning channels including instructor-led, virtual, and other delivery approaches.

Create a learning climate in which participants are engaged and eager to contribute.

Continuously grow knowledge of content, facilitation and delivery skills, and latest knowledge of the education environment for delivery.

Be a Master Trainer for specific courses or programs by participating in program development as a subject matter expert, conducting Train-the-Trainer sessions, and supporting new facilitators in delivery of course or program content.

Develop and coach colleagues through peer-to-peer mentoring.

Prepare business leaders and other SMEs to serve as leaders-as-teachers or to act as Guides or Producers for Leadership Development programs.

Based on insights, provides feedback and input to Enterprise L&LD Portfolio Leads.

Coach leaders to assess team member performance and promote application of the learning in the workplace.

Redesign or update learning content and/or create refreshers in partnership with Enterprise L&LD Portfolio Leads.

Live Grainger's brand and models Grainger principles to other Grainger team members.

You Have

Bachelors' Degree in Business, Human Resources, Education, or related field.

Fluency reading, writing and speaking English.

The ability to travel across North America 25% of the time.

3+ years of experience in learning field or equivalent experience.

1+ years of experience leading teams.

Experience in the adult learning, employee development, employee evaluation, consultation, presentation delivery and presentation delivery technologies.

Experience using several learning technologies to lead a learning experience; comfortable using learning technologies to deploy learning events and assess knowledge and skill transfer.

Background using quality processes and learning approaches.

Experience partnering with functionally diverse and/or geographically dispersed teams and team members.

Excellent planning and consulting skills, including successful assessment of situations and data incorporating systemic thinking.
