Job Title: SRE App Support
Location: Chicago, Illinois 60602 (3 day onsite in a week)
Duration: 6-month possibility contract to hire (depending on budget and performance)
Minimum pay: $68/hr

SRE" or "Site Reliability Engineer" can mean a lot of different things at different companies. For HM, he needs someone who is accountable for everything that happens in production. For this reason, he suggested we look for more "Support Engineer" or "Business Application Support Engineer" or "Senior Software Engineer" type resources.
"SRE cannot be an SRE in his world without knowing support work"


This person needs to be able to support business applications (not the platform) and will not work on non-production issues


Description:
We are searching for a candidate who has extensive experience in Site Reliability Engineering principles and culture, and who enjoys collaborating with a cross-functional team to develop real-world solutions and positive user experiences for every interaction. A person who can establish SRE best practices and supports App teams in maturing SRE principles and culture.

The Goals Driven Wealth Management platform is a showcase product for Client's Wealth Management business and we must demonstrate our ability to deliver and support innovative technology solutions. We count on our site reliability engineers to run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health.

Major Duties:
Develop and implement SRE best practices across the entire technology stack.
Collaborate with both application and infrastructure teams to establish reliability goals.
Design and maintain observability solutions for comprehensive monitoring.
Lead incident response and post-incident reviews, driving continuous improvement.
Manage Disaster Recovery exercises
Access review/Audit activity
Participate in capacity planning and performance optimization efforts. Work with senior staff and management on service delivery improvements

Knowledge/Skills:
Strong advocate for SRE principles and culture
Broad understanding of application and infrastructure components
Understanding of enterprise architecture patterns and best practices
Proficiency in incident response and post-mortem analysis
Experience in Terraform, Java, Springboot, Spring Framework, SQL/NoSQL databases
Knowledge of monitoring tools
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
Highly flexible and adaptable to change
Analytical and problem solving skills
A positive goal orientated attitude with a focus on service delivery
Strong interest in working with business teams on issue resolution

Experience Required:
A College or University degree in Computer Science and/or relevant 8-10 years proven work experience.
