Occupational health nursing is the specialty practice that delivers health and safety programs and services to workers and worker populations. The practice focuses on promotion and restoration of health prevention of illness and injury and protection from work-related and environmental hazards.

The principal objective of this nursing position is to provide professional nursing care and support to team members. The incumbent will also manage the occupational health programs at a designated facility. This position is not responsible for supervising personnel.

Responsibilities include:
  • Implementing and maintaining occupational health programs, policies, and procedures for the facility Adhering to nursing procedures within scope of practice
  • Managing comprehensive injury and illness prevention and early intervention programs Managing workers compensation cases and ensuring records and reporting systems comply with OSHA, state, company, and legal requirements
  • Attending facility management meetings to provide occupational health related updates
  • Participating in facility safety and ergonomic programs
  • Developing and coordinating health education programs for Team Members
  • Adhering to the highest standard of confidentiality
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Current unrestricted state license as a Registered Nurse is required. Bachelor s degree preferred.
  • Experience: 2 years management experience and knowledge of occupational health nursing or relevant nursing field preferred.
  • Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office products. Ability to work with an electronic medical documentation system.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, independent decision making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to walk throughout the facility to ensure team member and supervisor compliance with prescribed modified restricted duty requirements. This will include walking up steps and using ladders. Ability to respond to and provide care at medical emergencies.

Travel: 1 to 2 domestic trips per year. Occasional travel to local medical clinics and hospitals.

Schedule: Position hours will be from 10am-6pm OR 11am- 7pm with occasional Saturdays per business needs. Schedule may be altered to fit business needs.
