Job Description

SUMMARY:

Responsible for conducting analysis required to find appropriate solutions to difficult business problems through application of technology. The position performs advanced trouble shooting, application administration, system reviews, process, workflow and procedure analysis in association with business units and Information Services. Uses requirements gathering methods to identify, validate, organize, document, and communicate requirements on priority or complex matters. Performs systems analysis and research of business unit requests for reports, data, and application functionality changes.

RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:
  • Interacts with staff of various business units within the enterprise to conduct business analysis of problem to be solved; clearly documents business need and change management documents.
  • Coordinate and assist with issues between business units, developers, quality control, and vendor manager coordinating information for proposed system enhancements, testing, workflow changes and system implementation.
  • Determines the identification of solution alternatives and works with other areas of the business and IS as the advantages and disadvantages of each alternative are reviewed and a solution recommendation is made in collaboration with the appropriate business unit(s).
  • Analyzes issues related to systems or data, identifies problems and documents specific business, data or system requirements.
  • Manages change requests between business units, development, testing, quality control, and vendor management in coordinating information for proposed system enhancements or data changes and delivers to system implementation.
  • Works with team to determine test approach and to translate requirements into test plans and test cases.
  • Responsible for validating technical changes for quality where system testing is not required
  • Coordinates and facilitates execution of user acceptance testing.
  • Works with various partners to identify requirements, identify links/ interdependencies, across functional areas and provide analytics
  • Provides complete Business, Functional and Technical Requirements documentation that can be signed off by IT and Business Unit subject matter experts and key decision makers.
  • Understanding and coordination of data flow and system integrations across many systems
  • Develop and deliver appropriate documentation targeted to meet the needs of a variety of staff members
  • Effectively facilitate meetings and requirement gathering utilizing various collaborative methods, such as teleconferencing, video conferencing and webinars.
  • Provides effort and time estimates of effort and requested system modifications or new system initiatives.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities and ensure on time delivery
  • Maintains up-to-date technical and practical knowledge and understanding of systems analysis, system testing, and corporate internal processes and procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Prepares status and management reports as required.
  • Works closely and in combination with Developers, Test Analysts, and Systems Support Technicians
  • May perform complex configuration changes in business systems and support data validation and system testing.
  • Develop and maintain technology and business technical recovery plans.
  • Coordinate vendor relationships including priority of deliverables.
  • Acts as a project resource for gathering system, business and/or data requirements.
  • Works closely with all levels of enterprise and department management and key business unit staff.
  • Builds relationships with key business unit resources to gain understanding of overall business unit direction.
  • Lead business technical activities for small business initiatives using project management methodology.
  • Assists in establishing business analysis processes utilizing benchmarks and best practices and mentoring less senior analysts.
  • Assists with peer reviews for Level I Business Systems Analysts system configuration ensuring conformity to standards and quality.
  • Participates in Disaster Recovery exercises.
  • Cross functional experience within finance processes and systems and leads team to solution and process
  • Responsible for the strategy, development and ongoing management of system workflows
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements
  • Assist with ensuring financial systems are operating efficiently to help driver financial strategy, business unit performance, and regulatory compliance

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Data Management, and/or Computer Science. Combinations of relevant education and significant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

EXPERIENCE:

With proper education credentials, 3 years of experience providing information technology solutions to business problems. Prior experience with financial software preferred.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:
  • Working knowledge of IS applications, interfaces, network services, and software development.
  • Advanced knowledge of business problem analysis methods, and/or statistical analysis capabilities.
  • Ability to facilitate information needs from individuals/departments and transform them into IS specifications.
  • Advanced analytical skills and business knowledge to troubleshoot, investigate, analyze and make recommendations of creative information technology solutions.
  • Strong technical skills and proficiency to perform ad hoc queries for analysis and problem solving.
  • Ability to exchange factual and technical information with management, technicians and customers clearly and concisely.
  • Advanced capability to be innovative, creative when presented with roadblocks.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to author documentation that will result in the factual exchange of technical information with management, architects, engineers and customers in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to make competent decisions on such matters as technological problems, work flow, scheduling, testing processes and procedures.
  • Ability to comprehend the consequences of various problem situations and address them, or refer them for appropriate decision-making.
  • Expert proficiency in the use of software specific to position.
  • Excellent functional and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to utilize various collaborative communication methods, such as teleconferencing, video conferencing and webinars.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills.
  • Understand the need for, and display, a strong sense of urgency while maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Ability to follow processes and standards for systems or data analysis methods using current (and emerging) industry approaches such as Business Process Management (BPM), Business Process Integration, or Data Modeling with appropriate data warehousing and business intelligence architecture and design methodologies.
  • Ability to see the big picture related to requirements and fully understands impacts to other areas and project inter-dependencies.
  • Ability to work on a single system, complex system and cross-functional, cross departmental requirements.
  • Knowledge of Business Models, Process Models, Data Models, Workflow Models and Object Models as needed.
  • Ability to follow IT project management methodologies.
  • Thorough knowledge and consistent application of departmental procedures, processes and work flows.
  • Ability to display leadership qualities.
  • Ability to be innovative, creative and think outside of the box when presented with roadblocks.
  • Experience and comfort with System Development Lifecycle and project management processes.
  • Ability to work at an advanced level of analysis and to work on complex projects.
WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards.

Pay Range

Actual compensation decision relies on the consideration of internal equity, candidate's skills and professional experience, geographic location, market and other potential factors. It is not standard practice for an offer to be at or near the top of the range, and therefore a reasonable estimate for this role is between $67,500 and $97,900
